Hey there, I’m April Bisharat. I founded Love Fifteen Tennis out my own love and passion to teach, inspire, and instill excellence .

April Bisharat is a former professional tennis player, tennis coach, and founder of Love 15 Tennis, an instructional San Diego-based tennis program for children and adults.

April began playing tennis at the age of two, and by five years old, she was competing in USTA Junior Tournaments. Throughout grade school, she balanced an intensive practice schedule with an equally rigorous academic focus, excelling at both. A nationally-ranked junior at the age of 15, April began the professional tour circuit with the “Under 18” tournament, in which she reached the finals - beating four seeds in a row – while also taking advanced AP and college-level courses. Tapped by recruiters at the age of 16, she went on to play at the collegiate team level at the University of California, Irvine and later transferred to Loyola Marymount University.

April achieved tremendous accomplishments during her college years, including winning the Big West Conference Championships (UCI, 2010) – the first win in UC Irvine’s competitive history, two-time Female Athlete of the Year (LMU, 2012 & 2013), and numerous consecutive wins over other females in the WTA Top 100.

April was intent on finishing college by the age of 19 to continue her professional tour, but injuries prolonged this goal. She suffered through two career-threatening elbow surgeries before switching gears to take time off for rehabilitation while entering graduate school. Her academic drive earned her a graduate degree in Educational Studies, with an emphasis in Coaching and Psychology.

Post-graduate school, April attempted to return to competing, but a third elbow injury prevented her from continuing. Though her professional tennis career was not in the cards, she was able to channel her passion in a different direction: coaching. April’s immense expertise and true love for the sport lead her to be one of the most sought-after instructional coaches for people of all ages in the San Diego area, and in 2013, she established her own program, Love 15 Tennis.

Much love,
